Long and Scott Farms unveils health-themed corn maze

by DeVore Design, October 29, 2019

This past weekend, Long and Scott Farms unveiled its newest corn maze theme, “Feel Whole,” which pays tribute to AdventHealth. The 6.5-acre corn maze was carefully crafted to depict the words AdventHealth, along with scenes of kids having fun outdoors and exercising.

“It’s a fun and educational experience for the whole family, and lets kids know what farmers really do,” Rebecca Scott Tyndall said. “The hayride takes them through different aspects of the farm and it’s just a great place for families to enjoy time to together in a good, clean atmosphere.”

In addition to the corn maze, Long and Scott Farms, 26216 County Road 448A in Mount Dora, offers a tree maze, rope maze, labyrinths, mist maze, super slide, jumping pillow, kids zip line, fort playground, tot lot, sand tires, tether ball, games and covered picnic areas.

The maze and activities are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 8, with the last admission being sold at 3 p.m. Cost is $12 for ages 4 and older and free for kids younger than 3, but additional charges apply for hayrides and fishing.

“The maze was so much fun; the jump pad was in the shade and huge so plenty of kids could play on it,” Amber Johnson said. “They have many activities for the kids. They even have a cool-off maze with water, which was fantastic after getting lost in the big maze.”

While there, guests can visit Scott’s Country Market and purchase pumpkins, gourds, Kirby pickles, sweet corn, okra, tomatoes, potatoes, sweet onions, squash, beans, strawberries and jams. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Just next door, the country cafe offers specialties such as biscuits and gravy, dill pickle soup, sweet corn chowder, chicken salad croissant, veggie wrap, cheeseburger, pulled pork sandwich and fresh-squeezed lemonade. The cafe is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
