Check out Universal Orlando’s latest work on Fast & Furious ride

by DeVore Design, July 26, 2016

Universal Orlando’s Fast & Furious: Supercharged attraction may have been pushed back to 2018, but the theme park is still going full-throttle on construction.

The latest permits for the attraction, filed with the city of Orlando on July 15 and July 16, show interior buildout started, including installing air-conditioning and various electrical upgrades for operations such as show lighting, lighting control, projectors, ride control and show control.

Details of the ride are still unknown, but the mention of projectors in the permit gives more evidence that the ride may be a clone of the attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, which bears the same name.

So far, Universal has only said the riders will “be immersed in the underground racing world made famous in the films and explore the headquarters of [Dominic] Toretto and his team. Then, you’ll board specially-designed vehicles for an adrenaline-pumping ride with your favorite stars from the films.”

The ride is one of many under construction at Universal Orlando including the new Volcano Bay water park and the future Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, slated to open in 2017.
